One-on-one math help for Bay Area students.

I'm Stephen! I studied computer science at Penn State (class of 2025), I use math every day at my software job, and I grew up in a family of teachers. I tutor students in grades 5–11 in Pre-Algebra through Calculus online over Google Meet.

What I teach

Core math from 5th through 11th grade. If your school uses Integrated Math 1/2/3 instead, it's the same content in a different order, and I cover it.

Pre-Algebra

Fractions, ratios, negative numbers, order of operations

Algebra 1

Linear equations, graphing, systems, factoring

Geometry

Proofs, triangles, circles, area & volume

Algebra 2

Quadratics, polynomials, logs, functions

Trigonometry

Unit circle, identities, right-triangle problems

Calculus

Limits, derivatives, integrals, AP prep

What to expect

No contracts, no packages. Just sessions when your student needs them.

1

Reach out

Text or call me with your student's grade, current math class, and what's been hard. I'll get back to you and we'll figure out a plan.

2

Get set for your session

We'll find a time that works and meet online over Google Meet. Bring current homework, class notes, and questions so we can focus on where your student needs help.

Build momentum

Most students meet weekly for an hour. We work through current homework and upcoming tests, and I go back and fill whatever gap is causing the trouble. After each session I send you a short note: what we covered, where your student is solid, what to watch for.

About Stephen

I graduated from Penn State in 2025 with a degree in computer science. While I was there I taught a blockchain course, which is where I found out I actually like the part where someone is confused and you keep finding new ways to say it until it lands. That's most of what tutoring is.

My mom's side of the family is teachers and professors, so I grew up around dinner-table conversations about how to get a kid unstuck. Tutoring is the version of that I can do around a full-time job.

I work in software full time and keep my tutoring roster small on purpose. You get someone who uses algebra and calculus for a living, and who knows your student's name, class, and teacher's quirks, not one of forty kids on a rotation.
